Sahil Dey wins silver in Malaysian International Chess Festival

GUWAHATI: Assam Chess Prodigy Shahil Dey bagged silver medal in the Under 12 Rapid category of the 15th Malaysian International Chess Festival 2018 held at Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia today. Shahil scored 5.5 points out of 6 rounds and finished joint first. However, he had to settle for the silver medal on the basis of a tie-break score.

Shahil along with Dhrupad Kashyap and Nandan Buragohain of Assam Chess Club are also participating in the Open Category of the 15th edition of the championship which is now in progress at Kuala Lumpur. The competition would be concluded on August 26.
