Senior Women's One Day Trophy: Assam defeated Meghalaya

GUWAHATI: Assam defeated Meghalaya in a well contested tie by 1 run in the Senior Women One Day Trophy at Nagpur on Saturday. Assam, batted first in the match, scored 214 in 47.4 overs. While Jintimoni Kalita (78) was the top scorer, Uma Chetry contributed 58 on the board. Among the bowlers of Meghalaya Ajama bagged 5-29. Meghalaya, rode on two good knocks from Anita Lodhi (80) and SK Rant (55), chased very well but fell short by a single run as they bowled out 213. Urmila Chatterjee (3-44) was the most successful bowler for Assam.
