GUWAHATI: The regular training at Kahilipara Shooting Range got underway from today after the COVID-19 break. The centre was closed for the last several months because of the pandemic.

Top official of the Sports Authority of Assam Onkarmal Kedia (Director General) and Partha Pegu, Joint Secretary, Sports and Youth Welfare Department, visited the shooting range today. During the visit they also discussed on COVID-19 guidelines with president and secretary of the Assam Rifle & Shooting Association Diganta Bora and Bhaba Kalita respectively. Both the officials advised the Assam Rifle & Shooting Association to follow the Government's guidelines on COVID-19 strictly.

The shooters who have their own weapons were allowed to start their training at the shooting range today.

It may be mentioned here that the Government had already allowed to start the training of non body contact games in the state earlier. Recently the Government eased restriction on holding training of other events from the third week of September.
