South Point School Clinch Title of The 1st Royal Cup U-16 Inter-School Tournament

GUWAHATI: South Point School lifted the 1st Royal Cup U-16 Inter-School Tournament defeating Oakland School by virtue of the first innings lead at the Latasil ground here today. The star of the final is Dhruv Raaj Bora of winning outfit who made brilliant performance with both bat and ball in the two-day final. Elected to bat, Oakland English High School bowled out 150 runs in the first innings. Dhruv Raaj Borah (5/33) and Ziyad Zaman (4/29) shared nine wickets between them. In reply, rode on a nice century from Dhruv Raaj Bora, South Point School scored 292 losing all wickets.
Dhruv Raaj Bora, faced 147 balls, scored 133 runs and there were 25 boundaries in his innings. Ziyad Zaman (53) also scored half century in the first innings. Among the bowlers of Oakland Sahid Ali (5/80) came out with best performance. Oakland were 150/5 in their second innings when the match came to an end. Akash Basfor(56) and Sahid Ali (55) scored half centuries while Pratay Raj Das (3-24) were most successful bowler for South Point in the second innings.
