GUWAHATI: The chief coach of the Assam State Electricity Board Sports Club (ASEBSC) Ganesh Rai feels Super Division Soccer League needs more attention from GSA. In a conversation with The Sentinel Rai also admits that his team although on top of the point’s table but should perform better if they want to retain the title this season. Here is the excerpt.

TS: How is the standard of the Super League this season?

* From a players point of view, it is good. All the teams have at least a couple of players whose individual skill is very nice. However, I am not satisfied with the way League is being organized by the GSA and it definitely needs more attention from them.

TS: Tell us in details.

* Look, Super Division League is the best league in Assam. I feel participating teams and players deserve better treatment from the GSA. The matches start at around 3-30 PM and you know what are the temperatures the city is witnessing nowadays. But we are not getting the common facilities like dugout inside the ground. The players in the reserve bench get tired even before they get the opportunity to go inside the field as a substitute. On the other hand, the main gate of the ground is remained open all time and it allows a section of crowed to go inside. It shouldn’t have happened. Who will take the responsibility if any untoward incident occurred during a match?

TS: There are lot of complain on the refereeing also...

* It’s true. Teams are suffering for poor referring. There are many occasions when referees and other officials failed to give correct judgments. If it happens one or two occasions then it’s ok but the worrying factor is that it is going on every day and all the participating teams have been suffering. I feel the concern authority should give attention in this area immediately.

TS: After a jolt in the first game your team made a good comeback in the competition. Your comment.

* Yes. It is now sure that we would finish the first leg staying among the top two or three in the points table. However, I am still not satisfied with the team’s performance. We have been winning our matches but if you notice you will see that the victory margin is very small in comparison to other seasons. I admit there are a few reasons behind it but if we want to win the title we have to improve our standard further in our remaining matches.
