Torch Relay of Assam Youth Olympic - 2022 in Lakhimpur

LAKHIMPUR: The Torch Relay of the Assam Youth Olympic - 2022, to be commenced from July 22 to July 27, was organized under the auspices of the Lakhimpur district administration, Sports organizers of the district on Tuesday. The relay was flagged off by Deputy Commissioner Sumit Sattawan and Hiren Gogoi, the Joint Secretary of Assam Olympic Association. The relay kick-started from the Tyag Kshetra of North Lakhimpur town and concluded in the Indoor Stadium covering the town. In this connection, a ceremonial programme was organized in the Indoor Stadium, wherein Hiren Gogoi said, "Our State is full of sports talents. The Assam Youth Olympic - 2022 is being organized in order to promote the sport sector in the State and ensure more participation of the youths in the games". Deputy Commissioner Sumit Sattawan urged the students, youths of the district to to showcase their talent in sports by availing the benefits of the government schemes and bring laurels to the State. A galaxy of prominent sports personalities, organizers of the district were present in the event.
