Vasquez Schroeder Rodrigo clinches International Rating Chess title

GUWAHATI: Top seed Grand Master Vasquez Schroeder Rodrigo of Chile clinched the title of the 3rd Guwahati India Open International Rating Chess Tournament which concluded in the city today. Among the players from Assam CM Sahil Dey (7.5 points) came out with best performance in the meet. He bagged 13th position. The Prize Distribution ceremony was attended by Member of Parliament Queen Ojha and a few other dignataries. Altogether 356 players from 7 countries including host India participated in this 6-day mega chess event which carried a total Prize Money of Rs 10 lakh. Assam Chess Club was the host of the meet.
