Women T20I: India, England teams arrive today

GUWAHATI: India and England Cricket team will arrive in the city tomorrow to take part in the 3-match Women’s T20I series which will kick off in the city on March 4. ACA stadium, Barsapara will host all three matches of the series.
This is the first occasion when the Indian women cricket team will play T20I matches in the city. Before this series Guwahati hosted a couple of women ODI and all the matches were held at the Nehru stadium.
Addressing the media the secretary of the Assam Cricket Association Devajit Saikia said, “Both the teams would arrive in the city tomorrow in two different flights. They will attend first practice session at the ACA stadium, Barsapara on March 2.”
Regarding the timing of the match Saikia said, “As per the schedule all three matches will begin on 11 in the morning and would be continued till 1-45PM. There would be no tickets for the match. Assam Cricket Association will keep open the North and South stand for the spectators.”
The media briefing was also attended by the ACA President Romen Dutta, Vice President Parikshit Dutta and Joint Secretary Kamakhya Saikia.
