The day started at the Kangla Fort Complex, where the governor planted a sapling as part of the "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0" national campaign. The festival's big finale event took place at the City Convention Centre.
During his speech, Governor Bhalla commended the indigenous groups' traditional methods of forest conservation and emphasized Manipur's unique ecological legacy.

He emphasized that planting a tree is still one of the most effective ways to combat the climate issue and warned that concerns like deforestation, unsustainable resource use, and climate change are both real and urgent. He also urged residents to take quick action. He pointed out that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Ek Ped Maa Ke Nam 2.0 encourages all citizens to plant a tree in honor of their mothers and as a sign of respect for Mother Earth.

The Governor delivered saplings to student delegates from each district, honored volunteers who helped the administration fight recent forest fires, gave prizes to the winners of a state-level art competition, and published a commemorative Van Mahotsav 2025 publication.

He praised the Forest Department's creative use of recycled plastic bottles as fencing, a sustainable method he urged others to follow, and praised them for planting over 1.3 million saplings in sixteen districts in just one week.
A collaborative commitment to protect Manipur's hills, rivers, and forests and to promote a greener future marked the event's conclusion.
