Official sources said that the increase in the number of infected persons could be attributed to the return of stranded people. Meanwhile, 454 samples were tested at the RIMS yesterday, amid the state Health department's efforts to ramp up testing with the rising number of cases.
Meanwhile, the number of cases continue to show a sharp spike amid the return of stranded citizens. In Assam, the tally of cases has breached the 700-case mark, as cases have risen to 704, with 635 active cases and 4 deaths.
