40-year-old man living in Guwahati passes away at Manipur quarantine center

Guwahati: A 40-year-old man on Tuesday died at a quarantine center in Manipur''s Bishnupur district, hours after he arrived from Guwahati, Assam.

Officials stated that the man was living in Guwahati for the last seven years and was suffering from multiple ailments. It has been reported that the deceased had a medical history of viral infection and multiple organ failure and was undergoing treatment at a hospital in Guwahati.

He had arrived from Guwahati by a flight in the afternoon, they said.

Due to his health issues, the district surveillance officer Bishnupur, Dr. L Raichandra Singh, and medical officer-in-charge CHC Nambol, Dr. L Kuber Singh took care of the patient. But unfortunately, he breathed his last at around 11 pm, officials informed. It is to be mentioned that the COVID-19 test report of the deceased is still awaited.

Meanwhile, all those who took part in the cremation of the deceased have all been quarantined. The test sample of the deceased's wife (who returned by the same flight) has also been sent for testing.
