Bringing a positive change into the All Manipur Body Builders' Association, its first of its kind election of office bearers was held on October 11. The election took place under the supervision of Registrar of Societies.

All Manipur Body Builders' Association is an association formed after the merger of two former bodybuilding governing bodies. These are, namely, All Manipur Gymnasium Welfare Association (Regd No 1449/M/SR2010) and All Manipur Body Building and Fitness Association (Regd No 1195 of 73). The new association created after the merger bears registration no 1195/M/SRI973 and will be considered as the sole bodybuilding controlling association in the State.

The office bearers will be on charge for a term of 4 years which will be conducted under the patronage of Armstrong Pame, IAS, Registrar, Registrar of Societies; and Keisham Nillakanta, DRCS, Registrar of Societies, Manipur as Returning Officer. There were 314 nominees from 157 registered gyms contending for the post(s) of 1 president, 2 vice presidents, 1 secretary, 1 treasurer, 2 joint secretaries and 10 executive members.

The election resulted in Nongmeikapam Ratan being elected as president of the association. Ratan defeated his rival Moirangthem Deven by 161-129 votes. On the other hand, Oinam Ajit (167 votes) and Yumkhaibam Surjitkumar (157 votes) were elected vice presidents (out of 4 candidates).

Yumlembam Sumanta got elected as the general secretary getting 158 votes against Erengbam Bipin (138 votes). Khoinaijam Rohen Singh became the new treasurer beating his rival Ngangbam Nabachandra by 135-121 votes.

Nepram Kishan and Naorem Ranjit Singh got 166 and 152 votes, respectively to secure the joint secretaries' posts. The new members of the executive council are Bipin Nongmaithem, Achom Solomon Singh, Khundrakpam Pradipkumar, Sougrakpam Sanathoi Singh, Laishram Jaychandra Singh, Tayenjam Athen Singh, Samom Dhruva Singh, Mayanglambam Godhadhar Singh, Soyam Biramni Singh and Yangambam Nilbir Singh.
