JAMMU: The Border Security Force (BSF) on Wednesday paid tributes to Sub-Inspector Paotinsat Guite, who was killed in firing by Pakistani troops along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district on Tuesday. While paying tributes to Guite at the war memorial in the Frontier Headquarters at Paloura camp, Inspector General, BSF, Jammu, N S Jamwal said the force has a history of gallant men who remain committed to the sanctity of the International Border and LoC.

"The Pakistan Army indulged in unprovoked ceasefire violation in Rajouri Sector on the LoC, in which BSF Sub-Inspector Paotinsat Guite attained martyrdom while displaying conspicuous bravery in not only retaliating to the enemy fire, but also by saving lives of many of his colleagues," stated a statement from the BSF.

BSF IG N.S. Jamwal said that the martyred officer was a gallant and sincere borderman and the nation will always remain indebted to the braveheart.

The deceased officer belonged to Manipur. His mortal remains have been sent to Imphal by air. Jamwal gave an assurance that all benefits applicable to Guite will be made available to his family in a fast track manner. (Agencies)
