Congress candidate M Hemanta Singh also submitted a memorandum to the district election officer of Thoubal, demanding re-poll at nine polling booths.

Imphal: The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Monday ordered to conduct re-elections at six booths across four assembly seats in Senapati and Ukhrul districts of Manipur.

According to Rajesh Agrawal, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Manipur, the re-election will be conducted on Tuesday i.e. March 8th.

Agrawal further said that one of the main reasons of re-polling was that EVMs were damaged by miscreants.

Congress candidates in Wangkhem, Wangjing-Tentha, and Tengnoupal on Sunday demanded re-election in their constituencies alleging malpractices during the polling on March 5.

Congress candidate M Hemanta Singh also submitted a memorandum to the district election officer of Thoubal, demanding re-poll at nine polling booths.
