Femina Miss India 2023 to be Hosted in Imphal

This is the first time the mega event will be hosted in this region.

IMPHAL: An agreement has been signed between the Department of Tourism of the Government of Manipur and the Times Group for hosting the main event of Femina Miss India 2023 in the Northeastern state.

The announcement came from the Chief Minister of Manipur, N Biren Singh. He mentioned that this event will put the state a possible event destination for the country. The guests will be able to enjoy the warm and welcoming nature of the people of the state and enjoy the beauty of nature across the state. He also mentioned the exposure that the youth of the state will be able to get because of national-level fashion events and the new avenues of employment generation that will open up because of the event.

Although the exact date of the 59th Edition of the Femina Miss India has not been notified yet, it is expected to take place sometime in the month of April next year. The registrations for the competition begin next week as thousands of girls across the country eagerly await a chance to stardom through the same.

Recently the Indian Railways Catering and Ticketing Corporation announced a special package for those who want to visit the festivals of Northeast India. The Sangai Festival of Manipur and the Hornbill Festival of Nagaland were the main targets for this package.

The Managing Director of Times of India, Vineet Jain was also present for the event. Speaking on the occasion, he expressed his excitement about organising the iconic event in such pristine locations. He also mentioned that over almost the last six decades, the event was organised at different places across the country, but the upcoming 59th edition in Imphal will be worth remembering for a very long time. He also mentioned the high number of empowered women in the state, which goes hand in hand with the theme of the competition.
