IMPHAL: Following an appeal from Union Minister Amit Shah, Manipur police reported on Friday that as many as 140 weapons had been surrendered at various locations throughout the state. The surrendered weapons included SLR 29, Carbine, AK, INSAS Rifle, INSAS LMG, .303 Rifle, 9mm pistol, .32 pistol, M16 rifle, smoke gun and tear gas, locally made pistol, stun gun, modified rifle, JVP and grenade launcher. 

Amit Shah issued a warning to criminals on Thursday and requested that they surrender their firearms to the authorities because "a comb-through operation will start tomorrow, forcing officers to take strict action."

A judicial panel will look into the incident, according to Shah's other announcement.

In the meantime, the CBI will look into five specific instances of violence as well as one general case to explore the conspiracy theory. Amit Shah expressed his condolences to all the families who had lost loved ones in the violence when speaking about the violent incidents that had been reported in Manipur over the previous month.

Amit Shah said, “Over the past three days, I have made multiple trips to Manipur, meeting with officials in Imphal, Moreh, and Churachandpur in an effort to bring about peace in the state. Meitei and Kuki CSOs have been introduced to me.”

According to the Home Minister, the Manipur Government will send Rs 5 lakh in compensation via Direct Bank Transfer (DBT) to the survivors of those who have passed away. He stated that the Central Government would also provide Rs 5 lakh in compensation to the victim's surviving family members via DBT.

Meanwhile, The Home Minister said that in order to aid residents and assess the state's situation, Joint Secretary and Joint Director level officers from the Home Ministery and other ministries will be present in the violent state.

To help the victims of violence in the state, the Central government has sent 8 teams of medical professionals, comprising 20 physicians, to Manipur. He said that three more teams are on their way and that five teams had already arrived.
