Manipur boy thrashed ahead of his UPSC prelims after a tussle with local authorities

The Secretary of the village trashed Soshim Keishing after accusing him of disregarding the guidelines which were issued by the local authorities.

33-year-old Soshim Keishing in Manipur was thrashed by villagers in Ukhrul district while he was on his way to his UPSC exam center in Imphal. Keishing who sustained multiple injuries in the attack has been admitted to a district hospital and is currently undergoing treatment.

The incident took place following an argument between him and the authorities of Rayontang village in Ukhrul over the insurance of ''travel pass'' which he needed to cross the village.

The Secretary of the village trashed Keishing after accusing him of disregarding the guidelines which were issued by the local authorities.

As per police officials of Ukhrul district, an FIR has been registered at the local police station against four persons - Soreingam RS, Thotshang Rumthao, Lucky Zimik, and Thangmayo — of Rayotang village have been arrested in connection with the case.
