Manipur: Centre Sanctions Rs 33 Crore To Impart Quality Education

IMPHAL : Under the new project named Command and Control Centre (CCC), the Central government has sanctioned Rs 33 crores for quality education in Manipur. The central government has allocated the amount so that state can impart the updated scientific studies and provide top class education to school students. 

The prime goal of CCC is to upgrade the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) infrastructure which will facilitate in examining the performances of all government services in a more effective way. 

It will have the best gadget system in the 21st century, education minister Th Basanta Kumar Singh stated, while inaugurating a building of Hoomi Government High School, which is about 40 km from Ukhrul town, bordering Myanmar. 

The minister mentioned about a new project called Building as Learning Aid (BaLA) that will be launched in January 2023. The Hoomi government high school will be given much priority in this regard and residential type special classes will be initiated for class X students, he added. 

Manipur government has geared up to bring about developmental change in the education scenario of the state. Implementation of different programs and policies will be witnessed by state soon, the minister said. 

A retired IPS officer, Th Basanta Kumar described the BaLA project, which will aim at creating a child- friendly atmosphere for students, incorporating activity-based learning and comprehensive education for Children With Special Needs (CWSN). 

The minister, during the inauguration of the building, also distributed items like sports kits to the students. He also talked about the two month language training program initiated by the government to promote unity and cooperation by learning different languages. The participants will also be provided an incentive for the same. 

The minister furthers adds that, every Saturday is considered a holiday for the students, however, efforts will be carried out to utilise this day to teach subjects related to social and human resources. The children should be aware of the ongoing social issues apart from just sticking to the school books, he also added.
