Imphal: Ajay Kumar Bhalla, the governor of Manipur, and Raja Srivastava, the Special Director General of the Central Reserve Police Forces (CRPF) North East Zone, held a conversation on protecting people's lives and bringing peace to the state that is divided by conflict.

The Governor was visited by Rajan Srivastava and two senior officials at the Raj Bhavan where the discussion took place. In order to effectively address the challenges, the collaborative efforts between the CRPF, Army, Assam Rifles, BSF and the Police was also looked into in the meeting.

The main highlight of the meeting was the ethnic violence that began on May 2023 which resulted in the death of a large number of people and displaced several others.

The Governor was also briefed by the Special DG about the CRPF's deployment across the region in addition to their operational activities. He also informed about the initiatives to restore the state back to normalcy that have been taken so far.

In response, the Governor offered suggestions to the officers and added how his office will take up certain measures for the same.

In order to ensure that collaborative efforts continue to take place, the Governor and the officials made a commitment to regularize such initiatives through periodic Joint Command Post Meetings.

It should be noted that the governor of Manipur recently inspected Moreh town, which is located along the Indo-Myanmar border. During his visit, he assessed the current border wall projects and the general operation of the Integrated Check Post (ICP).
