The Manipur Govt. has handed over a cash incentive of Rs. 50 lakhs to NEROCA and TRAU for participating in I-League.

Imphal: The Manipur government has provided a financial assistance of Rs. 50 lakhs to the state's local football clubs NEROCA FC and TRAU.

N.Biren Singh, the CM of Manipur have tweeted on Nov 10, "Handed over cash incentive of Rs.50 lacs each to NEROCA FC and TRAU for their performance in participating in the I-League. The State Govt had earlier announced to award Grant-in-aid of Rs.50 lacs to the local football clubs of the State which have qualified for I-League."

Both the club have already started their preparation NEROCA for the upcoming I-League season after the 2019-20 season was cut short due to the coronavirus outbreak. Although it is expected that football will restart sometime in November.

Manimohan Moirangthem, secretary of NEROCA said that the govt has ensured us to provide a cash incentive of Rs. 50 lakhs and hopefully we'll receive it very soon.
