Manipur likely to go under complete lockdown

Imphal: With an increase in the number of positive cases of COVID-19, the government of Manipur is likely to reimpose total lockdown in the state.

N Biren Singh, Chief Minister of Manipur said that the state government is discussing on the possibility of reimposing a total state-wide lockdown to prevent any further spread of the infectious coronavirus.

The decision to impose a total lockdown in the state will be taken by the government in a couple of days, said a government official. CM Singh said the cases in the last few days were quite alarming in Manipur. The government has also identified the affected areas, and total lockdown would be imposed in these areas to stop the spread of the virus.

The state's current number of active positive cases is 3,748. With a recovery rate of 75.50%, a total of 11,913 patients were recovered. The fatalities in the state stand 117 in number.
