Imphal: Manipur Education Minister Thounaojam Basanta Kumar on Monday announced that the Centre has allocated Rs 5 crore to set up a Command and Control Centre for state-level monitoring and to keep a track of field-level academic and non-academic activities.

This move is also aimed at improving the performance of both teaching and non-teaching staff.

The Manipur Education Minister said that facilities will be in place in the state in order to monitor the attendance of the staff and also to keep an eye on how the teachers are engaging with the students and how the students are being taught.

Thounaojam Basanta Kumar was speaking during a valedictory function of the four-day state-level Science, Mathematics and Environment Exhibition, 2021-22 organized on the theme 'technology and toys' by the Science Unit Department of Education (S) under the auspices of NCERT, New Delhi at Johnstone Higher Secondary School, Imphal.

He also informed that a centralized monitoring mechanism will be set up so as to keep a track of the activities.

He further went on to say that there are many school teachers who are working with full dedication and determination in the hilly areas of the state.
