

According to officials, the value of the seized brown sugar shipment in the international market is believed to be over Rs 12 crore.
Throughout various operations over the last 24 hours, drug smugglers from Burma were apprehended and their drugs were seized.
In response to a tip, a team from the NAB and the Imphal police station in Manipur detained two individuals who were in possession of illegal drugs and were driving a Bolero and a Maruti Alto. They were detained in the area of Grace Lodge at Dewlahland in Imphal.
According to a statement from the Manipur home department, the team recovered a carry bag containing six transparent polythene packets of brown sugar that together weighed 3.033 kg. According to the statement, NAB filed a complaint against the pair under the ND&PS Act.
Paoginthang Touthang (42) of Touthang Veng, Saikul in the Kangpokpi district, and Khaijamang Touthang (33) of Yangoubung Village, Moreh in the Tengnoupal district of Manipur have been identified as the two individuals who have been detained.
The Manipur NAB now has possession of the seized vehicles.
Brown sugar weighing 2.982 kg packed in 70 soap cases was discovered by Assam Rifles soldiers stationed at boundary pillar number 79 in another operation against attempts to smuggle illegal drugs at around 4 a.m. on Thursday.
Another official source reported that one individual who attempted to smuggle the drugs fled from a section of the BP 79 when they saw the Assam Rifles' patrol party, leaving the contraband behind. This individual is believed to be a Myanmar national.
According to the source, the drugs were turned over to the Moreh police station in Manipur for further legal action.
