Two Militants Apprehended In Manipur

Guwahati: In a major development, Assam Rifles along with Manipur police has arrested two insurgents.

The Manipur Police, Keithelmanbi and Khoupum Battalion Assam Rifles apprehended militants of the United National Liberation Front (UNLF) and Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL) in Thoubal and Bishnupur districts on Friday.

Taking to the micro-blogging site twitter, Assam Rifles on Sunday confirmed the same and said, ''ASSAM RIFLES APPREHENDS INSURGENTS OF UNLF AND KYKL IN MANIPUR Keithelmanbi & Khoupum Battalion of #AssamRifles in joint operations with Manipur Police apprehended insurgents of UNLF & KYKL from Thoubal & Bishnupur District, Manipur on 24 Dec 21″

Notably, acting on a tip-off, Assam Rifles and Manipur Police conducted a joint operations based on and nabbed these insurgents.

According to reports, for further information, these arrested insurgents were handed over to the Nangpok Sekmai and Bishnupur Police Stations.
