Imphal: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked the electorate of Manipur to determine the fate of the state in the next 25 years by wiping out the Congress party and instead provide the ruling BJP with another opportunity in the upcoming polls.

The PM asserted that the 'double engine' government of the BJP will ensure that the northeastern state is secure and stable. He also added that the future of the people of Manipur will be bright if the Saffron party is voted to power in the upcoming Assembly elections.

PM Modi, while addressing a public rally in Imphal on February 22, said that the dark age of bandh and blockades during the Congress regime was successfully stopped by the incumbent BJP government in the last five years.

He also went on to say that the upcoming polls will determine the next 25 years of Manipur and the ruling party has succeeded in restoring peace and stability in the state.

Furthermore, the PM bragged about the achievements of the BJP government by saying that the state has come a long way in the developmental track. He said that prosperity in Manipur will be further propelled if the voters of Manipur give the BJP a second term.

The PM, in his speech, accused the Grand Old Party of neglecting development in Manipur. He praised the BJP by saying that the ruling party has worked on improving the connectivity, transport and making the lives of common people better.

The PM also shared a short video clip via his official Twitter handle. In the video, the PM can be seen shaking hands with some BJP workers.

Congress senior leader Rahul Gandhi also conducted a public rally in Imphal on 21 February, where he promised to protect Manipur's rich diversity, ethnicity and culture.
