

KOHIMA: Commemorating the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Kohima in WW-II, a gallantry award ceremony was held in Kohima on Thursday, organized by the Kohima Educational Trust and Kohima Educational Society.
Gracing the occasion, Nagaland Chief Secretary Temjen Toy said “We are gathered here today because of the war, specifically the Battle of Kohima. The battle which was not ours, but the battle which was fought in our land and changed the course of Naga history forever and the world as well.”
Temjen Toy said that the State Government has decided to make the 75th anniversary throughout the year by organizing a number of events.
He paid tributes to those who were involved in the fierce battle and those suffered immensely during the war.
The Chief Secretary welcomed those who come from the UK to be a part of the commemoration. He also thanked the Kohima Educational Trust and Kohima Educational Society for organizing the function in a befitting manner, stated a DIPR release.
