Guwahati: The Multi Sports Complex Quarantine Centre in Mokokchung, Nagaland, has been declared as a Containment Zone on Tuesday after the detection of a COVID-19 positive case within the premises.

In an order promulgated on July 14, the Deputy Commissioner Limawabang Jamir stated, "In view of the confirmation of one positive case of COVID-19 among one of the returnees of the Multi Sports Complex and in the larger interest of public health and safety, the Multi Sports Complex Quarantine Centre, Mokokchung is hereby declared as Containment Zone as defined in the Standard Operating Procedure issued by the Directorate of health and family welfare, Govt of Nagaland with immediate effect.

It needs mention here that Nagaland has confirmed 33 more fresh cases of the virus on Tuesday, July 14. With these latest detections, the number of active patients in the state has risen to 538, while the recovered cases now number 340. It has been reported that out of the 33 infected patients, 24 cases are from Kohima, 3 infected patients are from Dimapur, 2 each in Peren and Longleng, and 1 each in Mokokchung and Zunheboto. This comes a day after the state witnessed its largest single-day spike of 71 COVID-19 positive cases.
