Nagaland: 1 dead & 4 injured in Dimapur blast

As per reports, four others sustained injuries when a suspected vintage blast occurred at UNB colony, Burma camp.

Guwahati: One person was killed and four others were injured in a bomb blast that took place in Dimapur, the commercial hub of Nagaland, on Tuesday, August 8. 

As per reports, the deceased was a metal scrap collector, who was reportedly handling a vintage bomb that is suspected to be from the World War II era.

It is to be mentioned that the deceased was was scrap metal collector who was handling a vintage World War II-era bomb which went off.

"A blast occurred at UNB colony,Burma Camp.Preliminary investigation reveal that an iron scrap worker was pounding a suspected vintage bomb with a hammer, when it went off. The accidental blast left one dead and four injured (sic)," Dimapur police said on Twitter, confirming the incident.
