"Greetings to the people of Nagaland on 60th statehood day. Nagaland is a state with diverse tribal culture and a rich heritage. I was touched by the warmth of the people during my recent visit to the state. My best wishes for bright and prosperous future of the people of Nagaland," a tweet read of president Murmu

On the occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also extended greetings to the locals and stated that India is very proud of the culture of the region.

The Governor of Assam & Nagaland, Prof. Jagdish Mukhi, also sent greetings to the state's residents on the eve and urged the Naga people to take advantage of the occasion to learn from their mistakes, deliberate, and engage in important issues, as well as to make more concerted efforts to transform the State.

He claimed that since becoming a state on December 1, 1963, the region has made unheard-of strides in every field and has distinguished itself as one of the promising states in our nation's growth story.

He added that the pioneers and leaders who made significant contributions to the creation of the State of Nagaland had the foresight to plant the seed for and nurture the ideal of a Nagaland flourishing in peace, harmony, progress, and growth.

According to the governor, every resident of the state, including farmers, business owners, athletes, and leaders, as well as members of missions, churches, and civil society organisations, all play an important part in moving the state forward and can act as change agents.
