It'll not only be able to test for #COVID19 but also conduct researches & tests for other viral diseases when the need arises. On behalf of Nagaland govt I express gratitude to our neighboring states Assam & Manipur for helping us in our time of need."

It may be mentioned here that Nagaland Health Minister, S Pangnyu Phom tweeted out yesterday about the inauguration of the ceremony. "We are all set to inaugurate the long awaited BSL-3 lab at NHAK, Kohima tomorrow at 1100 hrs. We express our gratitude to all for supporting us to reach thus far", he wrote. Phom has informed that the BSL-3 lab was constructed at an approximate cost of Rs 11.55 crore and took 32 days to complete.

With the completion of this project, the state can conduct tests within its own boundaries, rather than sending to neighbouring states which will significantly reduce the burden on the state machinery and also reduce the time taken to conduct the tests.
