Guwahati: Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio unveiled the foundation stone of the Professional College of Music and Fine Arts at Tsiesema in Kohima on September 7. The project, which looks to creatively enable the youth, is being constructed under the centrally sponsored scheme, 'Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan.'

During his speech, Rio stated the vision and dream of the Government is to give the best education to the youth. Through the unveiling of the foundation stone a step ahead towards giving quality education in the field of music and fine arts has been accomplished, he said.

"The college will be a blessing for the youth of Nagaland and Northeast in particular and India as a whole," he added. 

Rio expressed hope that through the college, Nagaland would have many guaranteed artists, further boosting tourism in the State.

The Chief Minister also appealed to the concerned Department to transform this college into a quality college with top facilities.

At the same time, Minister of Higher and Technical Education and Tribal Affairs, Temjen Imna Along guaranteed that a lot more professional and model colleges are being proposed for various districts in the state.
