KOHIMA: Nagaland Deputy Chief Minister, in charge of Home, Y. Patton, and Zunheboto Town GB Association (ZTGBA) have strongly condemned the shooting incident inside the premises of the District Forest Officer’s office at Zunheboto, damaging the government vehicle of an officer.
In a statement, Patton said that such an incident has no place in society and needs serious condemnation by all.

Patton has asked the law enforcement agencies to apprehend the culprits at the earliest and impose befitting punishment. Zunheboto Town GB Association (ZTGBA) also strongly condemned the deplorable act of firing at the stationary vehicle of an officer of DFO, Zunheboto, on the night of January 24.

In a press note, ZTGBA president Kiyexu Chishi stated that such reckless and unlawful behavior was against the principles of a peaceful and orderly society.

The association urged the authorities to take stern legal action against those responsible, emphasizing the need for justice and a strong message to deter such acts of violence in the future, adding that such acts of violence would not be tolerated and addressed with all seriousness.

Further, ZTGBA called on citizens to uphold the values of peace, unity, and respect for law and order, which are vital for the community’s progress. Police sources said that the culprit in his twenties has been apprehended, and an investigation was on to ascertain the motive behind the shooting incident.
