KOHIMA: A felicitation programme for the toppers and rank holders of HSLC and HSSLC, 2019, will be held at Raj Bhavan (Durbar Hall) here on Tuesday. Governor of Nagaland PB Acharya will address the programme along with the presentation of awards and certificates in the category of: Governor's Awards to HSLC & HSSLC Toppers and Awards for Achievers in MILs & Skill Education subjects and NBSE Awards. A short interaction with the students will also be part of the programme, stated a DIPR release.

Counting Observer in Kiphire

KOHIMA: Counting Observer for the Lok Sabha election in Nagaland, Ritess Kumar Singh reached Kiphire district on Monday. Counting will be held on May 23. On his arrival at Kiphire, he had a review meeting with the district administration along with Superintendent of Police at the Deputy Commissioner's Office chamber. The Observer asked the district administration to be very careful while handling the VVPATs during counting in order to avoid unnecessary errors. The Counting Observer also inspected the strong room and the place of counting at the DC Office. The Counting Observer was accompanied by DC Kiphire, M Shayung Phom, ADC, Reny Wilfred, SP Kiphire, YE Ngullie and other senior officers, stated a DIPR release.

Camp for children with special needs

KOHIMA: a district level assessment camp for children with special needs was conducted at EBRC hall, Zunheboto on Monday. The programme was organized by the District Mission Authority (SSA) under the aegis of the Nagaland Education Mission Society, Department of School Education. A team led by Deputy Mission Director, Tali Jamir conducted the assessment camp. His team comprised Wati Jamir, prosthetist and orthotist from NRRC, Dimapur and Vinay Bishan from Star Key, New Delhi Head-IB. Tali Jamir explained that the main purpose of the assessment camp was to help children with special needs between the ages of 6-18 and to provide free check-ups of visually impaired, locomotors disabilities, hearing impairment. Altogether 30 children availed the free assessment camp and 9 children received free hearing devices, stated a DIPR release.

DEA web portal

KOHIMA: Nagaland Chief Secretary Temjen Toy has issued a notification informing that all Preliminary Project Report (PPR) to be funded through external assistance are to be submitted online through the web portal of the Department of Economic Affairs from November 1 onwards. The notification further informed that the Finance Commissioner has been nominated as the nodal authority for the web portal for submission of PPRs digitally. The web portal of DEA for online submission of PPRs may be accessed at https://eapdea.gov.in/ppr, stated a DIPR release.
