Imphal Sainik School alumni carry out cleanliness drive

KOHIMA: The Old Boys Association of Sainik School Imphal (OBASSI), Nagaland Chapter in collaboration with CIHSR, Dimapur conducted a 'Clean-Up and placement of Waste Bins Drive' at CIHSR premises in Dimapur recently. In a short programme held before the clean-up exercise, Chief Engineer, PHED, Cadet Engineer Y Tep, who attended the event as a Special Alumnus Guest, called upon the participants to join hands towards making a sustainable world. Reflecting upon the quote "We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors; we borrow it from our children", he urged all not to focus only on the present indulging in own immediate needs, but to also think about how the present actions will affect the planet where the future generations will live on.

Mokokchung DPDB meeting held

KOHIMA: The monthly Mokokchung District Planning Development (DPDB) meeting was held under the chairmanship of ADC Mokokchung, W Manpai Phom at the ADC Planning Cell Hall at Mokokchung recently. At the very outset the chairman appreciated the role played by all the line departments and NGOs for the successful completion of the Lok Sabha election process in the district. The meeting also reviewed the agenda of the last meeting including the performance reports of the government high schools during the HSLC -2019.

Market-linkage vehicles, recovery bikes distributed at Medziphema

KOHIMA: The Department of Cooperation, Government of Nagaland, organized a programme for the distribution of market-linkage vehicles and recovery bikes' at CTC Medziphema recently, stated a release. Minister Agriculture and Cooperation, G Kaito Aye said that it is a great opportunity to serve the farmers and society. Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's announcement "to double the income of the farmers by 2022", he stated that functional societies shall be shortlisted and taken care of the progressive farmers. The scheme of 'One village, One Society' will be promoted, he added.

DLCC trainings on 'Economic Census' held at Longleng, Mokokchung & Jalukie

KOHIMA: The District Level Co-ordination Committee (DLCC) trainings for the enumerators and supervisors on the seventh 'Economic Census-2019, were held at Longleng, Mokokchung and Jalukie recently, stated a release.

At Longleng, the DLCC meet was held at EBRC hall. Addressing the enumerators and supervisors, Longleng DC John Tsulise Sangtam pointed out that in Nagaland, the Government faces lots of issues in implementing any scheme and project accurately due to wrong information provided in the Census data. He added that "the Economic Census is an important operation because the statistical data are very vital for any planning process and wrong census provides negative impact for the growth and development of our State."

Informing on the roles and responsibilities of the enumerators and supervisors are very essential for the progress of the State. John urged the enumerators and supervisors to discharge their responsibility with utmost dedication to get accurate information from the ground so that our Government can perfectly frame various developmental programmes for the people, stated a release.

The DC also appealed to the departments concerned and the Common Services Centre (CSC) to properly monitor and supervise the enumerators and supervisors to achieve accurate economic census. He was optimistic that the paperless operation of seventh Economic Census will be implemented with 99% accuracy, stated a release.

The overview of the seventh Economic Census of India-2019 was proposed by Bausha, LDA, DESO Office Longleng and the vote of thanks was pronounced by Tehomeli Phom DM, CSC Longleng. The Programme was chaired by Amos Phom, IOS Longleng.

In the technical session the concept and definition of Economic Census-2019 was imparted by Bausha, LDA, DESO office, Longleng while the session on the 'Walk thru-App' was done by Hau-e Phom, DM CSC Longleng. The programme concluded with discussion among the participants and on the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs).

MOKOKCHUNG: Sponsored by the Ministry of Statistic and Programme Implementation in collaboration with CSC e- Governance services India Ltd, a district-level workshop- cum- training on the seventh 'Economic Census-2019' was organized by the District Level Co- ordination Committee (DLCC) at Hotel Metsuben, Mokokchung on Tuesday.

Delivering a short speech, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung, W Manpai Phom asked all the people involved in carrying out the Census to be sincere in finding the ground reality, adding that the data found during the survey should be accurate so as to help the planners for better planning and implementation.

The welcome speech was delivered by the district manager of CSC-SPV, Sosanglemba Longkumer, the Power Point presentation on the seventh 'Economic Census' was given by FI (DESO), Mokokchung Sunup Longkumer while the vote of thanks was proposed by the District Manager of CSC-SPV, Sunep Longkumer. The programme was chaired by VLE CSC-SPV, Lipoksungkum. The programme was attended by the supervisors and enumerators from different the blocks in the district.
