KIPHIRE: Distribution of seed money to Self Help Groups(SHGs) was held at DC conference hall, Kiphire on Saturday. Altogether five SHGs namely Nuture Self Help Group, Kishekiphe group, Trocheh Milong group, Santsah Weaving group and Limreih Self Help Group received the seed money from National Urban Livelihood Mission (NULM) Initiated by Resource Organisation, Greenland Society, Kiphire. Kiphire ADC Reny Wilfred in his short speech encouraged all the beneficiaries to utilise their money properly for the society. He also thanked the organisation for initiating such a programme, stated a release.

Tizit celebrates I-Day

TIZIT: Independence Day was celebrated at the public ground here with Advisor DUDA Bongkhao Konyak as the chief guest. He unfurled the national flag and delivered the Independence Day speech. Altogether 12 contingents participated in the march past. Other highlights included entertainment and cultural program. The Advisor also flagged off the motor cycle rally on "Rashtriya Poshan Abhiyan" under the theme 'Nutrition for All' organized by the Social Welfare Department and the district administration. All departmental officers and staff/NGOs/public leaders and general public attended the programme, stated a release.

Free coaching class

KOHIMA: The district administration of Wokha in collaboration with Mahila Shakti Kendra (MSK) will be imparting free coaching for Class-X repeaters on the theme "Learn and Shine" under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao programme. Classes will start from first week of September, stated a DIPR release.

Pulses distribution

KOHIMA: As declared by the Chief Minister of Nagaland in the Independence Day Speech on distribution of Pulses (Masoor Dal) for the first time in the State, the Department of Food and Civil Supplies has informed that the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, and the Department of Food and Public Distribution has released the pulses to State beneficiaries as 'one-time allocation to be distributed to the identified Ration card holders of PHH & AAY with effect from July 2019 (covering three months period) at a subsidized rate of Rs. 45.50p per Kg, stated a release.
