LONGLENG: The Assistant Secretary of Jal Shakti Abhiyaan, Dharam Raj and two officials from Ministry of Jal Shakti abhiyaan visited Longleng, and with officials and personnel of the district administration, they visited RKUY fishery ponds, community water reservoir and KUK water conservation dam at Yachem, Sanglu, Yaongyimsen, Chingtok and Orongkong on August 19, stated a release. On August 20, the officials visited Pongo village Under Shakshi block. The purpose of visit was to make clean drinking water available to the populace round the year, geo tagging of the water bodies and water sources identification. They also visited private fisheries and community water reservoirs, stated a release.

Poultry chicken distributed

PUGHOBOTO: Poultry chicken was distributed to beneficiaries of Mishilimi village under RKVY 2018-19 (Integrated Farming System) by SDAO office Pughoboto recently.SDAO Pughoboto, Myanthung Patton encouraged the farmers to take the opportunity and improve their livelihood through poultry farming. He also urged them to integrate with different components to increase their productivity like fishery-cum-poultry. Mishilimi Council Chairman, N. Khulu Wotsa, who chaired the program, thanked the Department for taking such initiative and sought more cooperation from the department as well as from the farmers, stated a release.

'Sadbhavana Divas' observed

KOHIMA: Nagaland along with the rest of the country observed the birth anniversary of Prime Minister late Rajiv Gandhi as 'Sadbhavana Divas' at the Secretariat Conference Hall recently. The theme of the Divas was to promote 'National Integration and Communal Harmony' among people of all religions, languages and regions. The idea behind observance of 'Sadbhavana Diwas' is to eschew violence and to promote goodwill among the people, stated a release.

Cash awards

KOHIMA: The Department of Youth Resources and Sports has informed that cash awards would be distributed to meritorious sports persons for the year 2016-17 and 2017- 18 at a function to be held at IG Stadium here from 11 am on 29 August. The award will be given to those who won medals in recognized disciplines affiliated to NOA in the international, national and North-East Levels. The medal winners concerned have been asked to personally collect the awards, stated a release.

Pension Adalat

KOHIMA: The Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms (Pension Cell) in a circular informed that the P&AR Department in collaboration with Accountant General Office conducted a daylong 'Pension Adalat' at AG Office, for redressal of pension grievances recently.
