
DIMAPUR: The ongoing expansion and renovation of Dimapur Airport’s terminal building is set for completion by March 2025, according to M. Raja Kishore, Regional Executive Director (RED) of the Northeast Region, Guwahati, a DIPR report stated.
Kishore announced this during his inspection of the airport on December 7. After a review meeting with the airport director and officials, Kishore assured that the improved terminal facilities would strengthen the airport’s capacity and connectivity.
During his visit, Kishore also attended the 25th Hornbill Festival in Kohima, where he experienced Nagaland’s rich cultural heritage. A delegation from the Business Association of Nagas (BAN), led by its president, Mongkum Jamir, also met the regional executive director to discuss the urgent need for infrastructure development at Dimapur Airport.
The official also had a meeting with Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, focusing on resolving land-related issues to upgrade Dimapur Airport to international standards. The meeting explored ways to promote Nagaland’s tourism potential and enhance organic cargo exports, taking into account suggestions from local chambers of commerce.
Kishore underscored the importance of leveraging Dimapur Airport to enhance business and entrepreneurship opportunities, generate employment, and strengthen connectivity within the region.
The airport’s expansion is expected to play a significant role in contributing to Nagaland's economic growth and development in Nagaland.
