
DIMAPUR: Nagaland Governor La Ganesan has formally inaugurated the Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar Central Library of the International University in Dimapur on Monday. The inauguration also coincided with the 136th birth anniversary of Hedgewar, the RSS founder, making it an important day for the university community.
At the inauguration ceremony, Governor Ganesan stressed the critical role of libraries in developing intellectual capacities and promoting a culture of lifelong learning. He termed the setting up of the Central Library as a befitting tribute to Hedgewar's legacy, highlighting its potential to be a center for knowledge, research and academic excellence.
“A well-equipped library serves as a center of learning and reflection, inspiring students and scholars to explore various fields, including history, philosophy, science, and the humanities,” Ganesan stated, while also highlighting the importance of remaining connected to the values of the nation’s rich heritage.
The Governor urged the library to incorporate electronic resources and up-to-date technology to facilitate easy access and the evolving needs of students. He also urged the university community to utilize the library not only academically but also intellectually and personally.
Apart from the inauguration of the library, Governor Ganesan also unveiled a book written by Priyaranjan Trivedi, the Founder Chancellor of the university. Several university officials were present at the event, including Pro-Chancellor Utkarsh Sharma and Chancellor Shyam Narayan Pandey. The Central Library will be an important repository for students, researchers and scholars in different disciplines.
