According to Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority, Monsoon is likely to hit Nagaland from June 12- 17.

As per NSDMA weather analysis, heavy rains would mostly occur in night and early morning. They have also notified thunderstorms and lightning with incessant rain is expected which might lead to flash floods and landslides.

It informed "Southwest monsoon which has made timeline onset over Kerela and coastal Karnataka has reached north east India which has further advanced into Nagaland through the eastern arm of The Bay of Bengal. StateĀ  capital Kohima and most other parts of Nagaland are also covered with monsoon current. During this period, Thunderstorms and Lightning with heavy rains is expected in the districts of Kohima, Dimapur, Peren, Phek, Mokokchung, Tuensang, Mon and Longleng. However, moderate showers will continue in the remaining parts of the state which is lightly to become intense."

NSDMA also added that in the districts of Kohima like Zunhebeto, Mokokchung, Longleng, Tuensang, and Kiphire will witness second spell of heavy rain on June 21-30.
