KOHIMA:

The Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) will announce the provisional results of the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) Examinations 2021 on July 20 on Wednesday, July 14.

According to the NBSE chairman, Asano Sekhose, an online provision would be used to examine the results and then get the marksheets.

Nagaland's HSLC and HSSLC exams were held in April and May of this year. As previously stated, the results will be available by the afternoon of July 20.

The website's specifics will be announced later. Hard copies of the mark sheets/pass certificates will be distributed as needed.

According to reports, a total of 23,612 students have registered to take the HSLC test this year. Moreover, a total of 16,835 applicants have registered to take the HSSLC examinations.

Meanwhile, Assam's education minister, Dr. Ranoj Pegu, stated on July 13 that the results of the Higher Secondary (HS) final year and High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examinations will be released by July 31.

Pegu told reporters that the state education department has been working hard to have the results out by July 31. The results will be announced in accordance with the different assessment systems announced by the state administration. The state boards' HS and HSLC examinations were cancelled owing to the state's COVID-19 crisis.

Previously, the Assam Government withdrew clause 5 in the assessment formula for the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and Higher Secondary (HS) examination procedures due to considerable criticism and dissatisfaction among students and their parents.

Clause 5 states that students who wish to become teachers by taking the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) and other public sector jobs where the marks of HSLC and HS exams are used to assess their merits in the future will not be accepted if they submit mark sheets and certificates based on the evaluation formulae. Such pupils will be required to take a special test in September 2021 in order to receive mark sheets that will be recognised in future TET and other exams. If the special examination cannot be held in September because to the Covid-19 outbreak, it will be held on various days in 2022.
