Nagaland: Winners of Multiple Sporting Events Awarded
Nezosa Tetseo, the president of the Phek District Sports Association (PDSA), graced the closing ceremony and stressed the importance of discipline.
KOHIMA: The 2nd Inter-Ward Men's Football & Women's Volleyball League and 6th Lt. Neikhrope Ritse Trophy came to an end at Pfutsero in the Phek district. At the Pfütsero Sports Complex, it was hosted by the Pfütsero Town Youth Organization (PTYO).
Nezosa Tetseo, the president of the Phek District Sports Association (PDSA), graced the closing ceremony and stressed the importance of discipline and dedication in being a good sportsperson.
He gave the players motivation to aim high, achieve greater success, and play on larger stages.
Tetseo also emphasized the numerous opportunities in the sports industry while challenging the athletes to have a clear plan, play for a living, and professionalize their abilities.
He told them that in order to maximize the potential of the youth, sports are being given priority by the state government and the Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA). The winners also received their prizes from Nezosa Tetseo.
PWD won the running trophy in men's football after defeating Menyitsuda 3-1 in the championship game. Mission won the women's volleyball championship in three straight sets over Tese. Rukuzo Ruho, a lecturer at Baptist Theological College, led the closing program, and Küvelüyi Chuzho gave a vote of thanks.
Also, in view of the upcoming 3rd Nagaland Olympic and Paralympic Games, the Nagaland Wushu Association ordered all the District Wushu Associations to conduct district selection trials to prepare for the upcoming state level championship. The categories for men are as follows - 51 KG, 55 KG, 59 KG, 64 KG, 69 KG, 74 KG, 79 KG, 84 KG, 89 KG, 94 KG, 95 KG & above. While for women’s category - 45 KG, 49 KG, 51 KG, 55 KG, 59 KG, 64 KG, 65 KG & above.
All the district units have been asked to conduct the trial and submit the players list latest by December 15.
