Swasth Bharat Yatra to reach Nagaland on November 4

Guwahati: A Pan India Cycle rally, Swasth Bharat Yatra, which was flagged off October 16, 2018 (World Food Day) on six tracks from six different locations, would be reaching Nagaland on November 4.

The rally is being organised on the theme “Eat Right India” by Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, in association with Health & Family Welfare Department (Food Safety Wing), Government of Nagaland

In a press release, principal director cum addl. food safety commissioner, Directorate of H&FW, Dr.Vikeyie Losu, informed that the rally was inspired by Mahatma Gandhi’s Dandi March and ‘Salt Satyagraha’ of 1930. As Gandhi through his tireless yatras led the nation towards freedom from Colonial Rule. Similarly, Swasth Bharat Yatra would also lead the nation towards freedom from diseases by spreading the message of “Eat Right India” to every corner of the country, the release stated. The rally that would cover almost all States/UTs would come to an end in New Delhi on January 27, 2019.

In Nagaland, the flagging in of the Swasth Bharat Yatras would be led by Dr.Longriniken, Advisor, Law & Justice, Border Affairs, Treasuries & Accounts, on November 4, 2018 at the Red Cross Building at 2pm and Flagging off by Pangnyu Phom, Minister of Health on November 6, 2018 from PR Hill Junction, Kohima at 8am.

On November 5, 2018, will be held. During the morning session at 6am, a small programme will be held at PR Hill, Junction, Kohima with the participants after which they will proceed to the Local (Khouchiezie) Ground, Kohima where a Swasth Bharat Mela would be held from 10 a.m.

On November 6, 2018 at around 1 p.m, the team would be received at Community Health Centre, MedizphemaIN Dimapur.

On November 7 morning an assembling of the participants/cyclist would be held at 5am at Super Market, Dimapur which will be followed by Swasth Bharat Yatra Mela.

The flagging off of the Yatras and handing over of the Baton to Assam team from Nagaland would be done by the DC Dimapur on November 7 at 2 pm at the Super Market.
