* NHIDCL officials assure Governor Ravi * Work slowed down due to sliding of rocks on this stretch

DIMAPUR: The Governor of Nagaland, RN Ravi has been assured by the senior officials of National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) that the on-going two-lane road construction along the Dimapur to Kohima stretch will be completed before December 15. This was assured during a review meeting on the ongoing road projects recently.

The projects reviewed in the meeting were the Kohima-Jessami stretch, the Kohima-bypass, the Kohima-Mao Road, the Dimapur-Peren stretch and the Changtongya-Longleng stretch. Due to rock sliding incidences between the Kohima-Dimapurstretch, the work for the two-lane Kohima-Dimapur project was slowed down, stated a release.

"The Governor directed the contractors to expedite the ongoing work and to achieve the target as assured by them. The NHIDCL officials highlighted hiccups in some districts resulting in the stoppage of ongoing works for which the Governor has asked the State government to resolve the matter at the earliest."

The status and the progress of the projects under NHIDCL are available in the Nagaland Raj Bhawan website, added the release. (Agencies)
