GUWAHATI: In a significant achievement towards enhancing the efficiency and reliability of passenger train services, Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) secured the second-highest position in punctuality performance among all the zones of Indian Railways on 12th March, 2025. Demonstrating its commitment towards timely operations, NFR operated 138 Mail/Express trains on the day, out of which 132 trains ran on time, achieving an impressive punctuality percentage of 95.65%.

A key factor behind this achievement is the successful implementation of the COA (Control Office Application) Integrated Data Logger system across nearly all major stations within the NFR zone. This system enables real-time tracking and analysis of train movements, facilitating better coordination and faster decision-making to ensure punctual operations.

To further enhance performance, NFR is actively working on upgrading to more advanced systems that offer improved automation, predictive analytics, and enhanced operational control. These advancements will contribute significantly to better train scheduling, reduced delays, and greater passenger convenience.

This milestone highlights NFR’s unwavering dedication to providing seamless travel experiences for passengers by minimizing delays and improving operational efficiency. The remarkable performance reflects the coordinated efforts of railway staff, loco pilots, and operational teams, who work tirelessly to maintain high standards of train punctuality.

NFR remains committed to sustaining this momentum and further improving its rankings in the coming months. NFR extends its gratitude to passengers for their cooperation and reaffirms its pledge to provide safe, reliable, and timely train services across the region.
