On World Day Against Child Labor, the Railway Police Force squad from NFR's (Northeast Frontier Railway) Alipurduar division successfully rescued two minor girls and two minor boys today, as well as arresting a woman trafficker.

As per the latest findings, the minors were being trafficked to Delhi.

The Northeast Railway in the past had also been instrumental in rescuing children.

The Railway Protection Force (RPF) rescued five small children from the Guwahati Railway station, according to an official back in January 2021. One of the five children rescued on the same day was a young girl who went from her home in Pasighat in Arunachal Pradesh's East Siang district to Delhi in quest of work without informing her parents or relatives. On Friday morning, she was spotted by a woman RPF officer while on duty at the Guwahati Railway Station. On being questioned, she revealed her name and stated that she went from her home in Pasighat in the East Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh to Delhi in search of work without informing her parents or relatives. The little girl who had been rescued was taken to the RPF post for further action. Her bag had one Aadhaar card, one school identity card, some old clothing, one smartphone, two bank passbooks, and Rs. 1,430 in cash.

The other four were young boys who ran away from their home to Guwahati by train without informing their parents that they were looking for jobs. Three of the minors are from Begusarai, while another is from the Bihar district of Samastipur. The youngsters were taken to an RPF checkpoint and turned over to the Railway Childline Guwahati.

In 2020, the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) Railway Police Force (RPF) rescued 103 minor minors and arrested 14 traffickers.

In another news of child trafficking, Assam Police on Saturday rescued four girls from Baihata, Assam, who were suspected of being victims of attempted human trafficking. The four girls were from Paneri village in Assam's Udalguri district's Harisinga Tehsil. Furthermore, one of the accused, Giyas Ali (32), has been arrested in connection with the event. He has been held by police for questioning. A case has been lodged in the Paneri police station under various provisions of the Child Labour Act.
