Bihar Woman Found Dead In Gangtok Hotel, Husband Missing

Gangtok: A young woman from Bihar was found dead on Thursday evening at a hotel in Sikkim's Gangtok.

Reportedly, the woman along with her husband Kumar Gyaneshwar checked into the hotel on 27 December and had booked a room till 30 December.

As per the Gangtok Sadar Police, the couple had come from Bihar as a tourist, and her husband was found missing after the hotel staff checked there.

The woman identified as Rekha Singh 27-yar-old.

They were supposed to check out on Thursday afternoon but after the couple did not come to the reception to check-out on Thursday, the hotel staff went to their room to enquire about their stay.

However, after repeated knocking on the door, the couple didn't respond and later the hotel management informed the police.

As the police entered the room, they found the dead body of the woman. Later, they send the body to a hospital for autopsy.

According to hotel staff, the missing husband was spotted on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the police have launched an investigation into the incident and have also apprised the Bihar police of the same.
