Screening Camp Set Up At Rangpo in Sikkim to detect Coronavirus affected people

Following a recent alert across the State within the wake of Coronavirus irruption in China and rumored cases in near Nepal, screening of vehicles crossing the inter-State border at Rangpo has been initiated at the check post.

A team that is led by Dr. Manoj Mishra, the medical officer of Rangpo's primary health centre started the screening of transport movement at the Rangpo check post this morning. The passengers are being checked as a safety measure

Dr. Manoj Mishra informed that the screening was launched as set throughout an emergency meeting held within the capital on Tuesday. It was absolutely set that the screening would be done at completely different entry points of the State.

Rangpo SDM Prem Kamal Rai had also held a meeting with the Rangpo police, Health and Motor Vehicles Division officials and decided to launch the screening from today.

The team is taking details of the total number of passengers and details of passengers coming from abroad. Visitors coming from all the affected countries would be specially checked and anyone found as a suspected case would be shifted to an isolation facility at the STNM hospital in Gangtok in a dedicated ambulance. Their blood would be taken for testing and kept in isolation till the report comes.
