
GANGTOK: Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang-Golay inaugurated the Sang-Rabdang Sub-Divisional Office in the Singtam-Khamdong Constituency on December 16 to enhance governance and provide better access to government services for local residents. The establishment of this office is expected to streamline administrative processes and improve public service delivery in the region.
Several prominent leaders attended the event, including Minister for Roads and Bridges NB Dahal, Minister for Ecclesiastical Affairs and Public Health Sonam Lama, Area MLAs Samdup Bhutia and Sonam Tshering Venchungpa, and District Collector Gangtok Tushar Nikhare, who conducted a tour of the new office.
Chief Minister Tamang-Golay emphasized the significance of the office in improving administrative efficiency and supporting the region’s development
District Collector Nikhare provided an overview of the Sang-Rabdang Sub-Division, which comprises three revenue circles, 22 revenue blocks, nine Gram Panchayat units, and 47 wards. He also noted that the office would set a benchmark for e-governance and excellent governance practices in the state.
The inauguration event also featured the distribution of grants-in-aid from the Chief Minister’s Discretionary Fund to financially vulnerable individuals. Cultural performances such as Maruni Dance and Tamang Selo added a celebratory touch, showcasing the region’s rich cultural heritage.
The Singtam-Khamdong Constituency will benefit greatly from the new Sang-Rabdang Sub-Divisional Office's improved administrative services and overall community well-being.
