GANGTOK: The state government issued a fresh advisory on Saturday, the notification said, "All those persons who have received the first dose of COVID 19 vaccines or carry RT-PCR negative report conducted within 72 hours shall be permitted to enter."

However, there will be no checking at check posts and they will be allowed free movement into the state. For all tourists, verification will be done at the hotel and overseen by the Tourism department.

"These requirements (negative RT-PCR) shall be verified by the hotels concerned where they are staying. The process shall be overseen by the tourism department," mentions the government notification that comes into effect on World Tourism Day on September 27.

The release further mentioned that there shall be no restrictions on persons exiting the state through the check posts. The new guidelines are applicable till October 4.

However, the government has imposed total restrictions on the movement of vehicles and persons between 10:30 pm till 5.00 am during the night, except for emergency purposes.

The movement of commercial goods vehicles and loading and unloading of goods has been allowed during the curfew period.

Meanwhile, Pubs, Discotheques, Cinema Halls and other similar places of entertainment shall continue to remain closed. Casinos attached with Hotels shall be permitted to operate for in-house guests only.
