GANGTOK: A Bhubaneswar, Odisha tourist, Mahabahu Nayak, has lauded the Sikkim Police for their quick and effective response in retrieving his robbed mobile phone in Gangtok. The theft occurred at crowded MG Market, a favorite haunt of tourists in the state capital.

Nayak made a report of theft at Sadar Police Station under General Diary (GD) entry No. 48/02.04.2025 at 9:40 pm on April 2, 2025. The police moved at lightning speed and recovered the stolen device and apprised Nayak of this recovery on April 10 in a message reading "got the phone" with an accompanying picture under Request ID: 202504070216208228.

Thankful for the support, Nayak particularly praised LNK Namrata Sewa of the Tracking Department at Sadar Police Station. He valued her prompt communication, sympathetic care, and exemplary professionalism during the recovery process.

"Reliability is underappreciated but greatly appreciated. Namrata Sewa went beyond the call of duty to help a foreign tourist in a foreign land, providing reassurance, empathy, and outstanding service," Nayak commented.

He also expressed his sincere gratitude to PI Niraj Khatiwara, SHO of Sadar Police Station, acknowledging his leadership and commitment. "Your commitment to excellence and attention to detail were the key to this achievement," he added.

Nayak wrapped up his testimony by praising the general honesty and professionalism of the Sikkim Police as "true assets to the department" whose commitment greatly adds to the power and respect they yield.
